After setting up this blog I arrived in China and found out that the site was blocked. Not sure why, but several sites are prohibited (ie censored). So, plan B was to set up a SmugMug account to share my photos. Unfortunately I couldn't log on to this blog to redirect people to my new site. One day to go!

Just sitting in Starbucks after buying several of their new instant
coffee packs...so I won't go into withdrawal until I find a cafe in
Peixian. Right now I'm excited and a bit nervous to be leaving all
friends and loved ones at home....so you all have to send messages or
skype me so I won't be lonely. Please keep in touch and I'll do my
best to share the excitement of my adventure with you.

Where am I going??

In only 8 more days I will fly from TO to Chicago then on to Shanghai (total time: 17 hours) Then all 19 of us will be picked up and transported NW (by bus?) to Nanjing (approximately another 4 hours!) After introductions to China and our hosts at the Jiangsu Board of Education we hope to get a little sleep and tour the city. On Sunday my team of 4 (John, Alison, Carla and myself) will be taken to Peixian to teach for 2 weeks. After that we'll split into 2 groups and Carla and I head for Sihong for the next 2 week session. I'm excited but wondering when will I sleep?!!!

18 Days!!!

Only 18 more days until I leave for China...so excited! I now know which cities I will be teaching in. Peixian for the first two weeks and then on to Sihong for two more weeks. It looks like both cities are on or near the Grand Canal which connects Beijing to Shanghai. Both cities are north of Nanjing. I'll spend 4 days in Shanghai before I return to Canada.
